I was thinking about scouting around a bit again - after I went with Hane-san [Steel,] to clear out some clowns in the carnival, it started to feel better!
So I wanted to see if things are improving at all.
That name doesn't mean anything to me. Which one is Hane?
[November recalls the profiles, trying to figure out which one is this Hane, trying to figure out if it's a nickname, but nothing comes to mind! Presumably because when November checked the profiles for the NPCs weren't there, really, hah]
But if you insist I suppose I can come along. I do am interested in seeing how well you did that.
That one. I think I tested their patience when I talked to them.
[Oh. No wonder he couldn't remember which one it was, it's one of the beings that appeared with the gifts and stuff. People around here sure are eager to trust them, for some reason. He really doesn't see why they would.
But in the end, the enemy of your enemy is your friend...until that common enemy is gone. Fine.
November follows along. Being in the middle of rain still is something that gets him in good mood, at least]
With the colorful powers, you mean. I'm still getting the hang of those.
[The offensive capabilities of those powers is something he sure is interested in finding out more about!]
[Hah, truthfully Steel didn't care at all what he did or didn't do, but November sure thinks he annoyed them]
It has limited uses before you begin feeling exhausted, doesn't it? Don't push yourself too hard. [He stares at a hand like he's trying to find something he didn't have before] From what I can tell mine is a bit of everything, just less powerful. I should be able to hold my own against anything.
[It's going to be so strange to be using a power set completely different to his usual one, though]
I'll push myself just hard enough. [no he's going to push himself too hard] But that's such a flexible power! Good for you, it's nice to have a lot of options, right?
I do pride myself in flexibility. I wouldn't have survived in my job as long as I did if I wasn't capable of adapting.
[So yes, he's indeed pretty satisfied with his power! Although that it has such limited number of uses in a day is a troublesome part of it. If it wasn't for that, he'd be unstoppable!]
[ - though for what it's worth, buzen asks it like he's asking about the weather. like it's not a strange occupation at all, and he really is just making sure that they're talking about the same thing]
That's true! You never know what unexpected things you might encounter on a job.
I'm an agent, not an assassin. A spy, some would say.
[Although his trade is more field agent stuff instead of spying per se. Tracking down people, killing targets, gathering intelligence...but his job is what it is because he is a Contractor and therefore is both highly effective and very deadly.
They weren't too different from what we're doing now. Tracking targets that could prove destructive, for one. Given my skill the sort of job I was always on the hunt for the ones that could cause not only material damage, but deaths as well.
[Which is why he seems to be at quite the ease right now! They had barely began tracking clowns at the carnival and he already looked pretty okay. November is in his element!]
I never did it alone, so that you're here is also very welcome.
The most reliable ones around -- and that's an objective fact.
[He sounds genuinely fond of them]
We got paired because our skillsets would work well together. [And by which he means their powers would work well together] But after some time we liked each other's company. April is sharp, competent and knows what to do without needing it spelled out, and July is invaluable despite his age.
[And also he sees November as a partner, something this guy didn't expect at all but warmed up to that pretty quickly. But yeah, it's pretty obvious he liked his comrades]
Calendar days, in fact. The MI6's naming conventions are like that.
[Probably. November and another one are the only ones with numbers attached to their codenames, but it's likely it's an agency-wide naming convention. I mean, their boss was known as Decade, haha]
Probably. But it makes us all hard to forget, so there's a perk there!
[Having a strange name sure helps when it's about staying memorable, yup. You would think a former agent of a government agency would be a little more worried about how recognizable his name is, but he doesn't care, hah]

I'm sorry to hear it even if I can't say I'm surprised. Anything that can be solved with a snack? A distraction?

[Even though he isn't smiling, he does sound interested!]

[but he'll just start heading toward the direction of the carnival then!!]
Then let's go! And if anything else gives us more trouble, I can knock 'em out.

[they just went and killed a bunch of clowns together]
But that's right. It's definitely interesting! I feel like I'm summoning instead of being the one summoned for once.

piecing this together,]
