Thousands upon thousands of children were left orphaned, forcing them to endure the Coerthas cold. However, each night, a number of Ishgardian Knights offered them shelter in their barracks, in spite of such kindness being forbidden by the knights' charter. The knights would hide the children underneath their uniform—red jackets.
As time passed and the war raged on, this kind act would be forgotten... Until a few orphans saved by the knights seek to rekindle the warmth they received. On the coldest nights of each year, they paid them tribute by donning familiar scarlet dress and bringing gifts to children of the realm.
With this, they shared the happiness they received that one starlit night years ago.
