[THE BLAHAJ SHARK oh my god. unfortunately she adores this shark. he brings it out, and like - i don't know if she's ever seen a stuffed animal before, but she's delighted by this little thing, in the way she can be delighted about things.]
You are right, the eyes are shiny. [she says, and she reaches out to touch it. oh... softe.] This is an excellent treasure.
[heck YES, buzen just laughs brightly even from behind the shark!! when she reaches out to touch it, he will also waddle closer, carrying it, and then pinch one of the fins between his fingers. he guides it to gently pat against her hand.
the gentle caress of a blahaj shark......]
Then it's yours! Matsu and I got a pair too, so that they wouldn't be lonely - so all three of us will match. They'll be like a little family.
[oh......... she doesn't know what to do with this, actually, i think this is the first time someone has done this sort of thing? the pat pat makes her expression flicker. not in a bad way, just in a little bit of an overwhelmed way.
she. gently adjusts the red ropes wrapped around her arm, and glances at buzen.]
Do sharks have families? [don't take it that seriously] Oh - um. Thank you.
[oh - well, he catches the expression shift because even though buzen's iq is literally in the dirt, his eq is pretty good. so even then, he just doesn't move too quick and offers her a patient smile as he peers from around the shark.
he won't say anything about it - he's not the type to push.]
Probably? I don't know much about sharks, but at least our sharks can have one. They can have each other!
You should give it a name, Shen-san. Mine's Dash and Matsu's is Hemo, which is probably because of some blood thing. [don't worry about it] So something that's a little like you.
[the fact that aki just gave me a tag mentioning matsui's fangs and now this i'm like what IS swords
she appreciates the little bit of space he gives her. she straightens her shoulders, and stares down at the shark, her hand still settled on it. a name, huh.
she's quiet for probably a little too long, but then she looks up at buzen.]
How does Fate sound? [she's actually asking - she's not sure if it's a good name or not.]
and because it's familiar, buzen does the exact same thing he did probably just a day ago - and he lifts the shark a little higher again so that he's hiding behind it. then, in a dorky little falsetto, he answers from behind:]
Wow! I'm Fate and I looooove my name, Shen-sa—uhhh, Shenhe-chan!! Kyuun! ♥
[instinctively, she reaches to flick his forehead.]
Stop that.
[but there's no force to it, it's the kind of almost flustered tsundere response, except instead of being like "it's not like i like you baka" it's more like "i have no idea how to respond to this amusement i feel except to hit it with a stick" kind of thing. like a cat bunny-kicking a toy.
a pause.]
Fate is an acceptable name, then. [huff. she's pleased she didn't screw that one up.]
[the flick just pulls another laugh from him, entirely amused]
Haha! You could be more honest too, Shen-san.
[though he's clearly teasing. in the end, he feels as though both of them were triumphant in the treasure hunt. sort of. he's a good loser but sometimes getting a chance to play around is enough for him.]
Yeah, yeah! Fate, Hemo, and Dash. We'll get them all together sometime soon.
Maybe Matsu can join us in the next treasure hunt... I know I don't seem like the type, but I'm not a fan of losing, you know? I'll definitely get you in the next round!
[a pause, as she brushes some sort of invisible dirt from her clothes and straightens up, settling. despite all that, though - there's a general sense of warmth coming from her. she doesn't hate this.]
I would like that. [it sounds like... fun, which she's reminding herself that she's allowed to have.] And I should like to see you try. I'm not very good at losing.
[that is teasing, for as flat as it comes out.
... she reaches to take the shark so she can hold him.]
That's normally my line, you know? So I guess we've got quite a match ahead of us.
[matsui will just be like 'why am i here' but he's a good sport so it'll be fun!! at the reach though, buzen will happily bestow the shark in shenhe's waiting arms]
There you go! Does that mean our trade contract is complete?
[he's just borrowing some of her words... he's so monkey see, monkey do]

I look forward to our next match.
