[For a moment, Atsushi is stunned. He definitely hadn't expected Buzun to be that blunt about it, or to even notice that Atsushi was trying to divert attention away from himself. That last bit especially hits him hard, because Atsushi is still figuring out this 'friendship' thing and constantly stresses about putting his best foot forward for his friends. He doesn't want to be needy and demanding, because he's so sure that it will drive people away.
But at the same time, he doesn't want to be alone either. His little adventure hit him hard, harder than he's admitted to anyone yet. And more than anything else, he doesn't want to be alone. Because if he ends up alone, then those insidious voices were right: that his friends would abandon him at the first inconvenience.
It's makes for a tumultuous mindset for an injured tiger boy, and he's frozen in indecision for a moment.
Then, quietly, he says just a few words:]
A distraction then?
[It's about all he can manage at the moment. He does want Buzen there, but he feels selfish for it too. So a distraction from how contrary he feels would definitely be nice.]
he'll let his hand rest on atsushi's back, patting gently - not enough to aggravate any injuries, he hopes] Okay. If you change your mind, you can let me know. If there's a weight you're carrying, we can hold onto it together. I'm pretty sure I'm stronger than you think I am, and I'll stay with you as long as you want me to.
[because buzen's the type of person who will go through hell with another person without so much as flinching, only to be sure that they don't make the journey by themselves.]
I think I'd like to see the Yokohama you know. What we do as sword warriors - we tend to go a little further back in time, when things were more ancient. But I'd like to see a modern Japan one day, and I'd like to visit you.
[There is. A LOT of weight that Atsushi is carrying. But he's not ready to share that burden. Not yet. It's only week 1, he needs more time to accept help from others. He's the one who shoulders the burdens of others, he understands why Buzen wants to help. But Atsushi still has hangups to work through before he can let himself take a turn at 'being helped' rather than 'helping'.
But he listens to what Buzen says. He listens well, and his eyes actually close as he imagines it. Buzen, visiting Atsushi's Yokohama, checking out the pier and the mall and everything else there is to see...it's nice. It's something Atsushi would enjoy quite a bit. He gets along with Buzen, and he would love to spend a day out on the town with him. Showing him all the best places to eat or to watch a movie or to just relax and enjoy the sunset.]
[if it's helping to calm him down, then buzen will simply move forward with this suggestion - ]
Where would we go? Where are your favorite places to be? I think I've been to that area before... but it was probably long in the past. It's probably really different now.
I think I'd like to see it - during a time of peace.
[because that's ultimately why he does everything he does - for the hope that one day humanity will get to enjoy their peace]
The amusement park on the boardwalk is nice. There's a big ferris wheel and you can see the whole city from it. And there's a nice park nearby too, one that goes right up to the water's edge.
[He is indeed calming down. Talking about his favorite things is a huge help, and soon he's breathing evenly and smiling just a little bit.]
I would like it if you could meet my co-workers too. Dazai-san, Kunikida-san, Kyouka-chan- actually, you might like Kyouka-chan. She's a lot like Vin.
It's sort of like the carnival here, yes. But a little more...mmm...fancy? There aren't clowns running around it at least.
And yeah, that's what Kyouka-chan is like too. She's really quiet at first and the way she stares can be a little off-putting, but once you get to know her you'll see that she's very sweet.
Haha, no clowns? Steel-san would like it a lot more than what we originally had then.
[amused...]
Ah, that's cute. I'm glad you're getting along that much with Vin, Atsu-san! I hope she gets to make a lot of friendships here - it'd be a nice surprise for her.

I'd like that. For you to come visit.
[It's helping to calm him too!]

[he really loves the ocean - but he laughs a little at the explanation]
I probably would! Vin reminds me a lot of a friend of mine too... A little standoffish, but with quite a good heart?

I hope someday she can trust us with her burdens.

Mm. I'm sure she will eventually - I'm the kind of person who thinks that sometimes you don't need to talk about things...
It's nice to just have someone there, and know they care about you.
[case in point: this distraction conversation]

She and I are alike too, so I'm sure we'll both find a way to talk about things.
