[good for her!! buzen will just allow it and it feels important to note that his lap is SO comfy like unbelievably comfy, best pillow]
There you go.
[and he'll pat her head too, there there yuzu-chan]
Hmm... well, it's part of our mission. Though I'll say we normally spend longer than a few days in a different timeline. We can be there for months or years... one group was gone for decades.
[oh - his eyebrows raise a little when the thought comes and he just offers up a sheepish smile]
... we are. We're affected by everything we do, because we have human hearts now - and some of us are better at handling that fact than others.
Things hurt... but how we process that hurt is probably different from the rest of you. Like for me... I always know that one day I'll break or disappear, or that I'll have to say goodbye to you all and never see you again.
...I can't say I really understand what that's like, but maybe I get it just a little.
[ she was more or less raised to be a weapon herself, and this reaper's game is her first real experience of any semblance of normalcy, terrible as it's been. ]
I'm glad that it's been worth it. And I hope you'll have far more good memories than bad ones.
Hmm... I think I do. I've seen the worst of humanity, but I hope I haven't seen the best. I hope that's still out there for me to discover, because I already like what I've found.
[but he'll just keep running his fingers through her hair and smile down at her]
I'm glad you're going somewhere more peaceful, hopefully, Yuzu-chan.
[ if she were a catte she would start purring... ]
Hopefully. It's too early to say anything just yet. [ but it's a nice enough thought to hang onto. ]
What have you liked most?
[ she likes listening to him talk, likes hearing the world from his perspective. also he's one of the few people she allows to dote on her, so she enjoys that part, too. ]

Wanna pillow your head in my lap?
[it's what all the other gous do.... friends are allowed]
You're probably not used to it, huh Yuzu-chan...

I would love to.
[ immediately flops over and makes herself comfortable, smiling up at him. ]
Not at all. How do you do it so often without going cross-eyed...?
[ despite the casual wording and affect, the vibes are actually pretty serious. ]

Thanks.
[ he will feel fondness directed at him! but also, concern. ]
...That long? Aren't you affected at all by it...? [ are you affected by this game at all? ]

Even if I'm sad about it, I'm also used to it.

Mmm. I'm sure it's not easy to get used to.
...But I guess part of being human is just accepting the inevitable. As much as it hurts.
[ ... ] Do you like having a human heart, Buzen?
no subject
I do. I was asked that closer to the beginning of my time here, and even now... I can say with confidence that I do.
I was a blade for eight hundred years... I've had a heart for about three.
And I've had more fun and pain in these past three years than the rest of my whole existence, and I wouldn't trade them away for anything.

That's my favorite era for humans, too.
