[they're walking! and talking. and buzen just laughs faintly]
Mm... I guess if anyone would understand it, it'd be you, Dee-san.
It's been kinda funny, having to explain tsukumogami to people here... and I give them a lot of general explanation. 'If an object reaches a certain age' or 'swords that are kept and treasured'....
Technically, I know I'm not the latter - but I'm not sure if I'm even the former.
Most people do. That's why I'm named a cultural artifact anyway. Because I'm a work of Gou no Yoshihiro, a famous swordsmith.
But the Buzen Gou was lost a long time ago - it hasn't been seen in a while or... ever, actually. It might not have even really existed in the first place.
[Hmmmmm. Buzen is truly dropping existential crisis in his lap here.]
But it may also have existed. [He glances at Buzen.] Wouldn't you have not been able to exist as you were... as you are now, too, if that had been the case? That it didn't exist.
Mm.... no, not really. Some of my comrades are like that - they were made famous in tales, but they never truly were forged in reality. So that's the case for some - they're grounded in myth.
[but buzen isn't grounded in anything. still, he doesn't seem depressed about it, instead smiling faintly.]
I don't feel depressed about it though - I just wanted to tell you. I don't want you to feel bad for me... I've made my own peace with it.
I do not pity you. Even the ones living through their myths... There are plenty of creatures like that which humans have forgotten, when they chose themselves and logic over the magic of the world. Mermaids, phoenixes, sprites. Even T-chan, one of the great fiends. I have all of them in my shop, in a place where they can exist with someone who believes in their spirits.
What matters is you are you right now. Regardless of whether the Buzen Gou was lost or was not made at all, there is a Buzen Gou with us here, and I believe in him.
[he hums faintly at that, understanding well enough]
Humans do tend to do that, huh? When the age of swords was over, they turned to their guns - and then a lot of blades lost their place too. Some were melted down or broken, or lost like me. Though at least some were recognized as treasures and saved...
Well, I don't know about believing in me - I'd be worried about disappointing someone.
But if you could just remember me, Dee-san, I think that'd be more than enough.
I think it'd be fun to see your shop but - my Gous aren't there, so I'm afraid it's not the place I'm meant to be. I've got to get back to Aruji too...
[because they have to save humanity. sorry d and rang,]
But I'm glad you get it - it just happens sometimes where I lose track of where I am and my surroundings.

[He reaches out and loops his arm around Buzen's own at the elbow, much like he did Rang's in trial. So they can walk. Thank you, boyfriend Buzen.]
You may tell me. There is no judgement here.

Have you heard of the Buzen Gou before?

Then he's thoughtful.]
No, I don't suppose I have. But my expertise are with life--animals, plants. I have heard of... Would it be your maker? The one who forged you.

[Sorry to Buzen and Matsui that they are stuck with two anti-humans.]
I can do that. I remember many animals already. If you keep talking this way, I'm going to have to steal you and Mr. Matsui for my shop...
[Teasing.]

[This doesn't appear to hurt his feelings at all. Maybe he will steal Buzen and Matsui anyway somehow for his collection, screw their Aruji (no).]
I see. That's alright. You will have to focus on the present until the feeling passes.
[Pats Buzen's forearm good-naturedly.]

[ok leader. but he just snorts faintly]
Yeah - I mostly don't wanna distract anyone else when that happens... We all seemed press for time and attention enough as it was...
no subject
You aren’t wrong. But as long as you let at least one person take care of you.
[Matsui.]
